A low, open litter box will be an ideal choice both for small kittens who want to teach them to use the home cat toilet, and for retired cats, for whom the high threshold and swing doors found in closed litter boxes may be a big obstacle. Using an open litter box is easier for both the cat and its owner. It is easier for the pet to notice the litter inside the container, which means it will start associating it with the toilet more quickly, and the owner, when cleaning, will be able to limit himself to only selecting the litter that has already served its purpose and at most adding another portion of it.
