Preces apraksts angļu valodā:

  • Versatile herb.
  • The taste brings pizza and tomato dishes into your mind.
  • Germination time 6 days.
  • Add the first Height Block as the first leaves appear.
  • Pinch off the tips when the stems reach 4-5 cm height. This induces branching and more leaves.
  • You can start harvesting in 6 weeks by picking the tips and biggest leaves.

Origanum vulgare
The name of this potent herb is said to come from two Greek words, ‘oros’ and ‘ganos’, meaning joy of the mountains. Oregano has small, oval leaves that feel a bit fuzzy to touch. The flavour can be described as warm or pungent, peppery, a bit bitter and straightforward – think of marjoram on steroids. Or think of Italian or Greek cuisine. For many people, oregano is a ‘pizza spice’. But this Honest Joe of your herb garden has so much more to give! Crush or shred oregano leaves to release the essential oils and add them in pasta sauces and marinades, stews and casseroles. Try it with beans and vegetables. And how about baking bread seasoned with parmesan and fresh oregano?
