Top notes form the top layer of the fragrance. These are the aromas that we feel first after spraying the perfume. Their main purpose is to release the initial scent, creating a first impression. Then they smoothly move on to the next part of the fragrance. Top notes generally consist of lighter and smaller fragrance molecules - they evaporate quickly, lasting for up to several minutes.

Also called middle notes. They are responsible for preserving some of the scents of the top notes, as well as introducing new scents. The heart notes also serve as a proxy for the base notes. they are combined with other flavors. Mainly fragrances with medium volatility are used here, including: spicy, floral and green notes. The heart notes appear as the top notes begin to fade and remain prominent throughout the life of the fragrance.

Together with the heart notes, the base notes are the basis of the fragrance. They help to enhance the lighter, less noticeable notes, while adding craftsmanship and depth to the entire fragrance. Due to the fact that they constitute the basis of perfumes, the base notes are very persistent, rich and heavy. They work together with the middle notes to create the overall fragrance. Because base notes penetrate the skin, their scent lasts the longest.

One method of classifying perfumes is their concentration. Perfumes are aromatic compounds and substances dissolved in alcohol. Depending on the amount of essential oils or fragrance compounds used, they can be divided into perfume extract (Parfum), eau de parfum (EdP), eau de toilette (EdT) and cologne (EdC). The most frequently chosen type of perfume for everyday use, especially on warm days, is eau de toilette. Its formula is lighter than other, higher concentrations. Depending on the quality and structure of the fragrance, you can enjoy it for many hours. Eau de toilette contains on average 5 to 10% perfume oils.
