In addition, the switches are not soldered, but mounted on bases. This means they can be replaced very easily and without any soldering.

The variant of the Ducky One 3 offered here is in a full-size form factor. It offers the full range of keys including number pad, position and arrow keys. This makes it equally suitable for gaming and office applications, but it also requires a lot of space on the desk.

With this keyboard, the manufacturer introduces its QUACK Mechanics design philosophy. Ducky takes into account four key considerations that determine the typing experience: the keycaps, the case, the sound and the stabilizers.

That's why almost all versions of the Ducky One 3 offer high-quality keycaps made of PBT. The semi-crystalline plastic is particularly popular with keyboard modders because it is resistant to abrasion. Ducky casts the keycaps from two layers of plastic so that the key labeling is always easy to read. The keycaps do not develop the shine that other plastics experience due to intensive use. This keeps the keyboard looking new for a long time.

A common criticism of mechanical keyboards is their clunkiness. The newly developed housing of the Ducky One 3 is flatter than that of its predecessors and, in combination with the three-stage feet, relieves the strain on the wrist.

To improve the sound and typing experience, Ducky tested a total of 17 different rubber composites and selected the most suitable variant for the Q-Bounce pad. This is combined with an additional foam layer made of EVA to effectively dampen resonances when typing and hard keystrokes.
